WARM WEATHER SHIPPING POLICY & SURCHARGE:
When the weather is over 75 degrees at our location (Oklahoma) or the destination address, we must include special insulated packaging to ensure that the contents stay as cool as possible.
This special packaging helps to ensure the quality of your food purchase for up to 2 days. These ice packs will gradually defrost during transit.
Shipments containing Temperature Sensitive items susceptible to melting (such as chocolate or coated nuts, chocolate, gummies, candy, taffy or fudge) will automatically incur a WARM WEATHER SURCHARGE of $5 per parcel and $.50/lb to compensate for the added weight and expense of extra packaging and ice packs needed to protect your candy from the heat while it is in transit.
This charge applies even if the order qualifies for free shipping. (If the qualifications are met, other items in the order will still ship free.)
PLEASE NOTE that even with these precautions, if left in the sun or hot mailbox after delivery melting can still occur. We encourage you to collect your delivery promptly or arrange for inside drop-off whenever possible in the summer.
When heat is excessive (temps over 100 degrees) we prefer not to ship temperature sensitive candy when the transit times will exceed 2 days.
For any shipment traveling outside of the standard 2 day delivery area, 2 Day or Overnight Shipping is recommended. Our website will help with choosing the correct shipping needed for your order.
Please make sure that someone is available to receive the package and take it to an air conditioned area. Packages may be left at the door if no one is available to receive them, regardless of weather or heat.
The Nut House cannot be held responsible for melting when packages are left in this manner.
We do the best we can to protect the candy from the heat. Please use your judgment when ordering candy in the summer for despite our best efforts in packaging, we can't control the weather, shipping delays, or the timing of customer pick up.
