About the Company

For over 35 years, Archie McPhee Wholesale (Accoutrements LLC) has been introducing peculiar and extraordinary items to the world. We specialize in designing and manufacturing impractical yet delightful products that add a touch of joy to life.

Mark Pahlow, our owner, initiated this venture by selling rubber lizards and other eccentric items from his home in L.A. The overwhelming demand for his unique collectibles led him to seek more space for his growing enterprise. Taking a bold leap, he loaded his entire inventory into a U-Haul truck and headed for Seattle. In 1983, with two employees, he established Archie McPhee in Seattle's Fremont district. He chronicled the fascinating journey in his book "Who Would Buy This? The Archie McPhee Story," offering deeper insights into the business's origins.

Over the years, our business has flourished. Notable hits like the Punching Nun and the Librarian Action Figure (inspired by real-life librarian Nancy Pearl) have propelled us to become the leading source for all things wonderfully weird in the world. Join us in embracing the wonderfully weird!
